The NSS Unit of St Francis College hosted a commemorative event in honour of International Women's Day.

The NSS unit of St Francis College organized a "Mera Pehla Desh ke Liye" in the Auditorium of the College in the presence of NSS Volunteers and Teachers.



NSS one week special Campaign Programme at Nongdisong

5th-9th  January 2024

The National Service Scheme ( NSS) unit of St.Francis D’Assisi College Organized a One week Special Campaign Programme at Nongdisong Village. The NSS volunteers hosted an awareness program on environmental protection, gender equality and health and sanitation. They also conducted a village cleaning drive and organized a singing and dancing competition to promote art and cultural preservation.

The College celebrated the Pre Christmas Celebration.



National Education Day

9th November 2023

The Education Department hosted a commemorative event in honour of  National Education Day. Students of Education Department present a short skit that creatively explores the theme of National Education Day. They also delivered speeches focused on the importance of Education.



Youth Exchange Programme

4th - 5th October 2023

Our college participated in the Youth Exchange Programme held on 4th to 4th of October at Anderson Higher Secondary School, Nongstoin. Students from numerous schools and association across the District participated enriching the experience for all. Notably Damebanmanbha Kharbani secured 1st place in the Guitar solo category. 



03rd October 2023

The college organized a special program to honour St. Francis of Assisi on October 3rd. The event included prayers, a procession, messages from students and Faculty, prayer dances, flowers tributes and a valedictory song. 



Cleaning Drive

3rd October 2023

In commemoration of Post Gandhi Jayanti, a cleaning drive was organized by the Sociology Department at the college campus and adjacent areas.



Participation in the 16th Peace Knit Event held at Dimapur.

30th September - 2nd October 2023

Our College along with several others in the North Eastern Region participated in the 16th Peace Knit event at Dimapur, in solidarity with the victims of Manipur clashes. Five students from the First Semester, guided by Sir Ananstar Peinlang, represented our College in this peace initiative. 



World Tourism Day

29 September 2023

The Economics Department organized the ‘’ World Tourism Day” to give awareness among the students about the importance of Tourism for generating employment which  help the economy of our country.  



11th  GRADUATION DAY

12th September 2023

The College hosted a Graduation Day Ceremony to commemorate the achievements of its graduate students in the presence of all their parents, teachers and the Principal of our College. The Local MLA, Shri. Gabriel Wahlang was the chief guest of the Ceremony and  Brother Aloysious CMSF, the Provincial of the Franciscan Missionary Brothers was the Guest of Honour.  



Teachers' Day Celebration 2023

5th September 2023

Teachers’ Day was celebrated in a befitting manner by the whole College. It was organized by the Student Council of our College. 



Pre-Independence Day Celebration organized by the Department of Political Science

14th August 2023

The Department of Political Science orchestrated a Pre-Independence Celebration on the 14th of August. The event commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal of the College during the morning assembly and at 12:00 O'clock, a stage Programme was  organized by the Department - highlighting the role of our Freedom Fighters in the past and the role of the present generation to uphold the values and ideals as enshrined in our Constitution.

To extend a warm welcome to the newly joined students of the 1st Semester, 2023, the Student Council organized a Freshers'  Meet on the 9th August, 2023. Besides many other Programmes, Mr. and Ms. Freshers Contest was the most thrilling part of the Event.  



Student Council Oath-Taking Ceremony

29th July, 2023

The Oath-taking Ceremony of the Student Council (Session 2023-2024)  was a momentous event that was held on the 28th July , 2023 before the Principal of the College. Student Council is formed to collaborate closely with the Principal and Teachers for the welfare of the student community and the College as a whole.



International Yoga Day

21st June, 2023

The celebration of  the International Yoga Day  was organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Central Bureau of Communication, Nongstoin Office, Government of India at St.Francis D’Assisi College, Nongstoin. The students took part with enthusiasm for the first time.



A maiden Visit by the local Bishop

19th May, 2023

The College welcomed the newly ordained Bishop of Nongstoin Diocese, Most Rev. Wilbert Marwein on his maiden Visit to the Campus. He celebrated the Holy Eucharistic Celebration to thank the Lord for the Academic session 2022-23 as well as to ask for God’s blessings on the Students as they were preparing for their Even Semester Examinations and Unit Tests. The function was well participated by the whole College Community.



International Dance Day

28th April, 2023

The Student Council, on the 28th April, 2023, organized a Dancing Competition to observe the International Dance Day and at the same time to encourage and motivate the talented students to showcase their talents. Students participated with full thrill and enjoyed to the full - in this way driving away worries and tensions and making themselves fit as youngsters.



RBI Awareness Programme

27th April, 2023

Reserve Bank of India organized an awareness Programme for our students to sensitize regarding the banking system and importantly to inculcate the need to develop the habit of saving and to be aware and vigilant with regard to the prevailing online frauds. 



NSS Programme on Disaster Management

20th April, 2023

The NSS College Unit under the supervisor of Sir. Sylvestar Dkhar, Programme Officer, was organizing a programme on Disaster Management to disseminate awareness on mitigating when disaster occurs. The programme focused on mitigating earthquake disaster.



Dr. Ambedkar Remembrance Day

14th April, 2023

The Students of 6th Semester, Economic Department was organizing a quotation writing competition about Dr. Ambedkar to observe his Jayanti.



"World Theatre Day" Programme

The students of 6th Semester, English Department organised a short programme on the 27th March, 2023 to join hand with the world in celebrating the "World Theater Day". Creatively they organised a slide show to interpreting the clear definition and characteristics of the Theatre. To entertain the programme a beautiful dance was presented to all which is indeed the part and parcel of the theatre concept.



Trekking by College NSS Unit

10th March, 2023

Fifty students from the College NSS unit went on a trekking tour to Mawsnah (Mawdohnud), Nongstoin, WKHD on the 10th March, 2023 as a mark of commemoration to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Raising Day. The event was organised with the purpose to bring the students to the exploration learning and thrilled adventure on the beautiful scenery of the nature. At the same time the trip was really challenging as it tested their abilities on physical endurance and capacity of psychological tolerance. The students enjoyed to the fullest and learnt sensitively about the importance of harmonious life with the nature.



NSS Camping At Nongdisong Village, WKHD

The NSS, St. Francis D'Assisi College, Siejlieh unit was conducting a one week camping from 6th December, 2022 till 10th December, 2022 in Nongdisong Village. During the camping the NSS volunteers had done social work to renovate the village school building and cleaned its campus.



The Conclusion of The College Week, 2022

After a long whole week of enjoyment and enthusiasm since its inception on the 3rd November, 2022, the College Week came to an end on the 10th November, 2022. The Hon'ble MLA of 32-Nongstoin Constituency, Shri. Macmillan Byrsat did the honour of lowering down the flag. 



Inauguration of The College week, 2022

3rd November, 2022

College Week, 2022 was inaugurated by Madam Lata Syiemlieh, The District School Educational Officer, WKH Nongstoin on the 3rd November, 2022.  After declaring the Event opened, she firstly played carrom board with the Principal to decoratively open the College Week. 



Run for Unity Marathon

31st October, 2022

NSS Unit of St. Francis D'Assisi College, Siejlieh, Nongstoin was organised a Run for Unity  Marathon on the 31st October, 2022 at 5:30Am from Siejlieh Taxis Stand to Civil Hospital Nongstoin as part of observing the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National unity day) to commemorating the 147th birth anniversary of Sir Sardar Vallabhai Patel along with the pledge taking before running the Marathon. There were as many as eighty NSS volunteers who took part in this Marathon.



APPDA Mitra Volunteers Training

11th-26th  October, 2022
 

NSS unit of St. Francis D'Assisi College, Siejlieh, Nongstoin had sent fifteen NSS volunteers to take part in the special training of APPDA Mitra Volunteers (3rd Batch) that was organised by the District Disaster Management Authority, West Khasi Hills at Nongstoin College, Nongstoin. These volunteers were being trained to acquire a special set of mitigation skills and technical know-how, especially to be fit as frontline volunteers in case of any calamities that might happen suddenly at any point of time.



NSS Day Celebration

24th September, 2022

NSS Unit of St Francis D'Assisi College Siejlieh, Nongstoin under the supervision of the Programme Officer, Shri Sylvestar Dkhar had participated in the NSS day celebration on the 24th September, 2022 which was held at NEHU campus, Shillong. We also joined the celebration by performing a group song on this auspicious day.



Celebrating 75th years of Independence

The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Central Bureau of Communication field office, Nongstoin on the 28th October, 2022 hosted photo exhibition programmes cum dancing , extempore speech and special talent show competitions in collaboration with our College to celebrate the 75 years of Independence of our great country, India.



Book Fair, Ri Khasi Book Agency

17th August, 2022

The College hosted the Book Fair in collaboration with  Ri Khasi Book Agency for three days from 17th August, 2022 till 19th August, 2022. It brought benefits for our students  and other students in Nongstoin Town - it encourages reading culture and helps in developing the habit of keeping in touch with hard copies, besides using the soft copies.



National Service Scheme (NSS) Cleaning Drive, 

19th October, 2022

The Massive Cleaning Drive or Swachhhta was organised today the 19th October, 2022 by the National Service Scheme (NSS), St. Francis D'Assisi College, Siejlieh Unit to clean the college campus and its adjacent localities of Siejlieh Village. The programme started at 10:00 am with the active participation of all its members.  At the onset of the programme Shri. Sylvestar Dkhar, the Programme Officer NSS Unit,  highlighted the importance of the programme on Massive Cleaning Drive or Swachhhata as per the instructions of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

The amount of wastes collected piles up to about 50 kg where they were safely disposed off at the College dumping ground.



Aspire MEGHALAYA  - District Talent Event 2022

Aspire MEGHALAYA - District Talent Event 2022 - West Khasi Hills District is concluded at our St. Francis D'Assisi College Auditorium on the Saturday, 8th October 2022 where 24 young Participants from St. Francis D'Assisi College; Nongstoin College; St. Peter's HSS; Sib Sing Mem. Govt. HSS;  Lyngngam Pres. HSS  showcased their unique talents amidst an enthralled audience. There is no doubt, that all have participated with full enthusiasm. 

The Programme is indeed a grand success for the District. Congratulations to all the Organizers and the Participants.



Oath Taking of the Student Council (SC)

The 18th July, 2022 was the formation day of the Student Council (SC) followed by the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the members in the presence of the Principal of the College and the Teachers.



The 10th Graduation Day Celebration

Celebration of the 10th Graduation programme on the 15th July, 2022 with the passed-out degree students of the batch 2019-2022 in the presence of Prof. Henry Lamin, The Director of the College Development Council (CDC), NEHU as the Chief Guest of the day.



Parents' Meeting 2022

On the 8th July, 2022 the college conducted a Parents' Meeting in the college auditorium to discuss various issues and to have a close collaboration between Parents/Guardiand and the teachers - To motivate and follow up our students for better performance in their studies. The meeting was successful with a good response from the parents.

21st January 2022 -           The College joined all the citizens of the State in the grand Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Meghalaya’s Statehood.



Carol Singing and Pre-Christmas Greetings

17th December 2021 -      The Co-Curricular Cultural Committee organized Carol Singing and Pre-Christmas Greetings with the theme on the Golden Jubilee of Meghalaya’s Statehood. 



Workshop on Poultry Farming in Meghalaya.

15th December 2021 -      As part of reminding Students to creatively stand on their own feet, the Economics Department organized a workshop on Poultry Farming in Meghalaya.



Cleaning Drive and planting of Trees

14th December 2021 -      The Environmental Education Department organized a Cleaning Drive and planting of Trees in and around the College Campus.



Essay Writing on History of Meghalaya.

13th December 2021 -      The History Department organized Essay Writing on History of Meghalaya.



Debate concerning various issues of our State

10th December 2021 -      The Political Science Department organized Debate concerning various issues of our State and the Education Department organized Role Plays on Veterans who fought for Meghalaya’s Statehood.



Essay Writing and Poetry Writing 

9th December 2021 -         The English Department organized Essay Writing and Poetry Writing with the themes on Meghalaya.



Principal motivational seminar

8th December 2021 -         The Principal gave a motivational Seminar to the Students concerning their duty and great role in the society.



Tribute to Meghalaya’s 50th Statehood

6th December 2021 -         As a Tribute to Meghalaya’s 50th Statehood, The Khasi Department organized a special Programme to sing patriotic songs in the Khasi Language. It’s an invitation to the Students and all the Citizens of our beautiful State to enrich our own Language and be proud of it – firmly believing that it will be included soon in the 8th Schedule of our Constitution. 



World AIDS Day

1st December 2021 -         On World AIDS Day, keeping in mind the Golden Jubilee of our Statehood, a special Programme was organized by the Sociology Department to conscientize on the Theme: “Ending the HIV Epidemic – Equitable Access, Everyone’s Voice”. Students will be wearing the red Ribbon on that day for bringing awareness.



Constitution Day

26th November 2021 -      Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas) was observed in our College where the Students of Political Science Department led the whole Assembly to recite the Preamble to the Constitution before the National Flag. This was done to foster the spirit of patriotism towards our Country and our State.



Seng Kut Snem

23rd November 2021 -      Seng Kut Snem was observed with a view to awaken in our Students the spirit of respecting and valuing one’s own family roots, cultures and traditions. 



Golden Jubilee Celebration

19th November 2021 -      Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Arrival of the Congregation of the Franciscan Missionary Brothers in North East India (1971–2021) – Some of our Students represented the College in the Celebration held at St. Francis Mount, Umbir, Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya – It’s a gesture of thanksgiving and appreciation for the Brothers’ 50 years of Service in North East India, particularly in the State of Meghalaya.  



FOUNDER'S DAY of the Franciscan Missionary Brothers

18th November 2021 -   In anticipation of the Founder's Day (19th November), The College paid floral tribute to the Image of Brother Paulus Moritz, the Founder of the Franciscan Missionary Brothers on his Death Anniversary. It’s a reminder that every Student is an indispensable partner in the growth of our society and the State. 



 Wangala Festival

12th November 2021 -      Wangala Festival was observed in our College to show solidarity with our Garo brethren and to acknowledge the unity in diversity in the State of Meghalaya.



All Souls Day

2nd November 2021 -  All Souls Day was observed in our College to commemorate all those who have gone before us but their memories are still clear due to their great contributions towards the up-building the St. Francis Institutions and our State of Meghalaya
